Since our establishment in 1995, our team at Brost Developments has prided ourselves in showing customers what a wonderful experience building their custom home can be. Our intention is not to be the biggest builder, but to strive to be the best! Through the years, we have earned much success with our approach to building personalized homes, offices, and other projects, that are tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients.
Our experience ranges from project management of all phases of the Chinook Village complex to renovations of numerous professional offices throughout Medicine Hat, and as of the Fall 2025, we were proud to have started construction on our 268th home. A number of skilled and trained employees have joined our team over the years and are committed to bringing you the highest level of workmanship that we have earned a reputation for.

Our team at Brost brings an unparalleled level of combined knowledge and experience to the construction industry in our neck of the woods. We have trained carpentry, design and financial professionals on our team ready to give you a unique, personalized building experience. We don’t want you to just fall in love with your home on move-in day, we want you to love the entire process it took to get there, and beyond.

Gerhard, the patriarch of the company, has grown Brost Developments from the foundation up to the position it is today. We don’t want to age him, so we’ll just say that he comes with multiple decades of experience in the construction industry.
Gerhard learned the art of construction from hands-on work and now brings his wisdom to the design table of the company. He will work with you to come up with a plan for your special project that is both mindful of your lifestyle and respectful of your budget.
He is known for saying that it is always best to build it right the first time and instills this value in our team as we put our best skills forward on all the work we complete. He truly wants all of our customers to love their home when they move in and be confident that its durability is unmatched.

There are people in this world who were born for their vocation and Aaron is definitely one of those people. Right from earning his journeyman ticket, he was an award-winning carpenter who had a passion for swinging a hammer, distinct design and pushing the envelope.
Aaron brings over two decades of home building and design experience to the team and has had his hands on every step of the construction process. He is a driving force in our Building Forward initiative, never satisfied with the status quo.
He sits on the BILD Medicine Hat Board of Directors and leads their Technical Committee. He is also a member of the Provincial BILD Alberta Technical Committee. Aaron is the background driver and bird's eye view of all of our projects, ensuring that the Mission of our company is steeped into every single one of our projects.

With a long lineage of carpenters in Tim's family, the trade truly runs through his veins. His keen ability to solve complex construction challenges has earned its own name around here—Timgineering—a testament to his creativity, technical skill, and practical problem-solving.
In addition to his work in service and warranty, Tim is also involved in our quoting process and sales. His hands-on experience and deep construction knowledge allow him to help homeowners understand options clearly, ensure quotes are accurate, and support our team in delivering the best value and solutions for every project.
When he’s not solving challenges on site or supporting our sales efforts, you’ll get to know Tim after the completion of your home or renovation. We don’t believe the relationship with our homeowners ends on move-in day. Tim is a dedicated member of our team whose focus is to ensure everything in your home looks and works perfectly from day one and well into the future.
He is always accessible, ready to answer your questions about operating your new home, and quick to help with any imperfections or adjustments. Tim’s commitment to care, craft, and client connection makes him an invaluable part of the Brost experience.

Bailey is our dedicated interior designer, working closely with clients to expertly guide them through every stage of the design journey. With a sharp eye for aesthetics and extensive experience in both commercial and residential design, she is passionate about creating spaces that authentically reflect each client’s style, lifestyle, and vision.
Before joining Brost, Bailey taught design at the post-secondary level and successfully ran her own design company—experience that has shaped her into a confident, knowledgeable, and highly creative professional. Her approachable nature makes clients feel instantly comfortable, and she fosters an environment where ideas can be shared openly and confidently.
Bailey’s design philosophy is grounded in both beauty and practicality. She has a keen focus on helping clients make choices that align with their design goals and their budget, ensuring the finished result feels thoughtful, personalized, and financially comfortable.

While spreadsheets aren’t for everyone, they are an enjoyable part of the day for our resident beancounter, Sherry.
After earning her accounting stripes in public practice for over a decade, Sherry made the transition to the family business a number of years ago to look after the management functions of the company.
So if you have questions about your billings, want to comment on the company’s social media or have a non-construction question (she's leaving those to the experts on her team), she is here to help.

Alex is the friendly face you will meet when you first step into our office. While much of Alex’s time is spent working with Aaron to ensure everything is in order for your home, she also looks after various aspects around the office including marketing, home design and general operations.
Alex is a qualified drafter/designer and holds the CADD Technical Illustrator degree from Medicine Hat College. Although new to the industry, Alex is extremely eager to gain experience and hopes to bring some fresh perspective to the table.

With nearly 25 years of experience, Mike brings deep expertise in construction management and an exceptional ability to help homeowners navigate the many mechanical, design, and finishing decisions that arise during a build. He is always ready to answer questions, offer thoughtful advice, and provide clarity at each step.
Mike’s approach is rooted in the belief that your home should be built entirely for you. There is no request too big, too small, or too unique—if you can dream it, Mike will work tirelessly to bring it to life. His dedication, leadership, and steady presence ensure you feel confident and supported from the first day of construction to the moment you receive your keys.

Brandon brings many years of hands-on experience in residential construction and a strong commitment to craftsmanship, teamwork, and client care. As our New Home Site Supervisor, he plays an essential role in keeping each project running smoothly from the ground up.
Brandon is on site regularly, monitoring progress, coordinating trades, and ensuring that work flows at a healthy, efficient pace. His proactive approach helps minimize disruptions and keeps every build aligned with our schedule and expectations.
Working closely with our New Home Project Manager, Brandon helps ensure every home meets the high standards Brost Developments is known for—quality, safety, attention to detail, and a positive experience for the families we build for.

For more than a decade, Austin has been an essential part of the Brost Developments team. As our Lead New Home Finisher, he brings remarkable craftsmanship, precision, and pride to every home we build—helping shape the reputation for quality that our company is known for today.
Austin’s work ethic is unmatched. He is hardworking, reliable, and deeply committed to creating beautiful, lasting finishes that reflect our high standards and the trust our clients place in us. His attention to detail and ability to elevate a space make him a true master of his craft.
Austin cares deeply about the quality of our final product and the skill level of our team. He takes time to guide our apprentices and finishing crew, ensuring they develop strong workmanship and contribute to the consistently high standards our clients expect.

As our Renovation Project Manager, Tom oversees every stage of the process. He coordinates trades, manages timelines and budgets, and ensures each detail is executed to our high standards. Always up for a new challenge, Tom leads his team with confidence, clear communication, and a steady enthusiasm that keeps projects running smoothly.
He believes that renovation should be a positive experience, and he makes sure everyone involved—homeowners, designers, and crew—enjoys the journey along the way.
